¡Hola! Luces y flashes. Te deseamos una Feliz Navidad! Somos las divas! Lucie, Bambie y Kiki

Lucie The Nurse - Lucie La Enfermera
¡Hola!
Hi! I have been with my sister Bambie all the time. She had surgery last Tuesday, November 13. She came out all right and I have taken very good care of her. Mom and I picked her up on Tuesday night so Bambie could sleep home, but I did not sleep at all. I was awake all night, looking after Bambie. Look at her face! She does not complain. She takes all her medicine. Well, here is her surgery! It looks like mine.
Thanks to all of you for your calls and prayers.
Baloo: we received your message!

¡Seguiremos celebrando!

To celebrate my Birthday, my friend Jojo, Bambie and I went to a park. JoJo and his Mom brought me a delicious present: a bone shaped cookie! It was a nice, sunny and windy afternoon. We walked and ran all over the place… well I ran; JoJo and Bambie walked. JoJo is very handsome. My friends Quiro and Kiki could not come to my Birthday gathering. We’ll meet when they return to the city. It has been raining in and out in the city, so Zarita, Carlota, Lorenzo, Charlezze, Charlotte, Tacho (named after his moustache!), Goldie, Whoopi and Baloo could not come this time. We’ll continue celebrating!

Ella estaba a mi lado, vigilandome. No mires hacia abajo, solo mírame y camina poco a poco, mamá decía. ;-) Lucie

Mom took me to the dog park in El Cafetal. It is a big park, with a big area with grass to run and play. Another area with benches and trees to rest. And, the challenge: the obstacles area. Those are big for me, so I used the small obstacles: the tunnel, the zig-zag and the 6 inches high obstacle with slabs, it is so high that I feel even smaller. I have to walk up the slab and after I make it to the top, I have to walk on the narrow slab to the other side and walk down the slab. WOW. It seems difficult, but I think I can do it. The first time I tried it, I backed up. When I was closed to it, I looked up and it seemed endless. Mom told me that she would help me. She told me: Trust in you Lucie, Trust. Little by little, I made it top the top. I looked at the long slab, then I looked down and jumped on Mom'd arms. It didn't look that easy! When I calmed down, Mom placed me again on the slab. She was next to me, watching me. Don't look down, just look at me and walk, one step at the time, she said. I made it to the other side. When I was about to take a deep breath thinking I had accomplished it, yikes! there was the slab to walk down. It wasn't that bad. I walked slowly and there I was at the bottom. I felt soooo good! Then we went back to the beginning. I went up, walked and went down. up, walked and down. I mastered it! Now you know what it takes to overcome obstacles. ;-) Lucie

Yorkies # 1

After several months of strong competition, we took the first place over the Scottish Terriers. I took all the Kilts and had a throw made with them. Now I can happy rest on my Scottish throw and taste the victory.

El Sol, por favor - The Sun, please
¿También llueve en tu casa? ¡Rayos!
#
Is it also raining in your home? Heavens! Here it rains every day and of course, I cannot go out walking. All streets are wet. I have gone out by car, but is't not the same. I can see the puddles and the people paddling as the go across the streets. I'm not allowed at the malls. Not even think about going into a restaurant, or even showing my tiny paw in there. There are many restrictions for dogs in this city. Could someone bring back the sun please?

El Secreto - The Secret
¡Mamá me pescó in fraganti! Pero me dejó seguir divirtiéndome. Luego, me quitó mi abrigo y cepilló mi pelo. No me tardo mucho. Lucie

I remember the day when Mom found me playing with the clothes. Who doesn’t like the soft and warm clothes fresh from the dryer? I love to turn and turn on the clothes without stopping. It feels sooooooo soft; as if I was on a cloud. That day, I turned around so many times that I even lost my hairdo. Mom caught me In Fraganti! Then, she took off my sweater and brushed my hair. I always receive questions about the secret of my hair. Well, Mom brushes me every day to prevent tangles. When I shower, I use baby shampoo and conditioner. Then the secret: Mom rubs me with a soft and perfumed liquid that makes my hair shine. But a secret is a secret. I will not reveal it. Finally, the hair dryer until my hair gets completely dried. It does not take me much. I can be ready in a few minutes, so you can invite me. Lucie

Nuestros amigos siempre ayudan a conseguir ropas usadas y cosas útiles. Me gusta visitar a los ancianos y hacerlos sonreir. Si quieres saber a donde llevar tus donaciones, escribeme a AskLucie@gmail.com

Today I had fun when I went with Mom to deliver a donation to an elderly home from the charity group. I had some time to say hello to a very kind lady. She smiled at me and we had a nice talk. The sun was shinning and it was very hot. We brought there 6 huge bags with clothes and towels. Our friends always help get used clothes and useful items. I like to visit the elderly and make them smile. If you want to know where to donate, email me at AskLucie@gmail.com

GOOSE BUMP: A last-resort maneuver used when the Regular Bump doesn't get the attention you require. Especially effective when combined with The Sniff (see above).

De Guardia / On Duty
#
Guess what my duty is while we go out in the car?!
I become a WATCH DOG, I get on top of the back part, on a shelve between the back seat and the rear window. I alert Mom when some other car gets close to us. Sometimes we stop at traffic lights and people cross the street or pass behind our car and guess what they do?! They smile at me and wave their hands. Even the passengers in other cars smile. I like to go there, for I can walk from side to side and look far away. Of course, this is a city, and Mom can only drive fast in the highways. So there is no problem that I go there. GrandMa sits on the backseat and supervises my duty work. Mom said she will try to take a picture of me next time so you can all see me at duty.

When our friends follow us, I lead them and guide them safely to destination. They do not get lost. They keep their eyes on me all the time.

Terapia Canina - Dog Therapy

Mom and I went to the mall. I was in her arms for I'm not allowed to walk there. I could see all those businessman and fancy women walking around as if they were on a treadmill. As they came close to pass by our sides, I could notice the frowns on their faces and a sudden surprise look at me followed by a smile. They liked me. I bet you they forgot about their stress. I'm happy for I made them smile even if it was for as little as a second. That's what I call The Dog Therapy.

¡Genial! Toma tus vitaminas tu también.

Mom and my vets insist that I must have vitamins every day. They are delicious. When I was smaller, my hair did not grow as long as other Yorkies'. Now my hair is growing very pretty. I even got the top knot!!! Cool! Remember your vitamins too.

Hola. Adelante Yorkies!!!

Hi. Did I tell you that I am the Boss? Here I am on the Executive Chair. Does that make me a CEO?
I was taken this picture in the middle of a very busy business day. I know I look very classy and chic with the special hairdo from Mom. Well, now you see me at work. There is no doubt as to who is the boss. Come on Yorkies! Go Yorkies!!!

De Compras / Shopping
Today I went to my private restaurant. There were my favorite Eukanuba and Iams kibbles waiting for me in my kennel. Then I fed the guppies in my 2 gal fish tank. I took some phone calls from friends. I went with Mom to a very important meeting at a very fancy shopping mall. There, we also went to Mom's face spa. I stayed on her lap all the time. So many light bulbs and brushes and powders! I thought I was in Hollywood. After a 1 hour treatment we went to the Swarowski window. Ahhhhhh that's superb! Bye for now,

Mi Primer Peinado - My First Hairdo
Hola.

Hey! I'm back!!!!
My eyes look pulled up sort of a chinese look with these top fountain/sprinkle. I spent the whole morning there: First I was listening to Mom and Mrs Eleonora, my vet, talking about my hair and planning some 2 or 3 years ahead! Good grief! Finally they agreed that my hair is growing stronger, and Mrs Eleonora said I can have the top sort of knot only during the day. Maybe I can get to have a braid. Second, Mrs Eleonora and her team got into action: bath, dryers, scissorssss, wow I felt as one of Mrs Eleonora's fancy show Yorkies, surrounded by glamour and luxurious care. That's what I call a Fashion Emergency team. I hope Mom learns how to do my hair exactly as today.

¡No más fotos! - No more pictures!
#
I tried hard for her not to take pictures at me. I pulled her camera but noway, she took me another one .. again ...and again ... Could we ever stop Mom from taking pictures? Can't she understand our privacy! lol

Auntie Cele
I had so much fun with Auntie Cele. When she came to visit us, I could show her my new steps. I went up and down couple times for her to see how cool it is.
She was surprised for I will not be bigger. At the same time she was happy for since I am so tiny, I would not hurt her back.
I showed her my toys and my flower collar and charms.
I like Auntie Cele!!!

I want to work with Mom!!!
I had it all planned. This morning I was playing close attention to all while Mom was picking up her purse and portfolio to go to work. As soon as Grandma opened the main door, and the elevator's door opened, I ran as fast as I could. I passed between Mom's shoes, shortened the distance to the door and passed next to Grandma, then I finally crossed the borderline (the main door)! All I thought was "I can do it, I can do it" There it was, the magic box that takes me down to the garage or up to our cozy home. It's door was open. I made a right turn and jumped into the elevator but that was it ... I felt Mom's hand around my body, lifting me upppppp!!!!! Would it be to celebrate my 1st place on the race? Did I win? Nope! Mom simply hugged me, brought me in again and told me "Nice try Lucie, but you are not allowed in my work" She kissed me much and promised me a nice walk out when she returns from work.

Today: I am 8 months and independent
Dear friends,
I have big news to share:
* Today is my 8th month. We will celebrate with treats.
* My Vet said I am totally ok from my small surgery, no more medicines! He removed the stitch, so I am totally free to stretch, jump, climb and cuddle!!!
* I just mastered the 4 steps to Mom's bed! I have no fear. I go up and down when I want to.
Today I became independent! (Well, I think so)
Mom has small treat bags to give to all my fur friends I find on the way to the vet, the local pet store and the plaza where I will meet with my local yorkie friends.
I wish you all were here with me today, my big day!
Yours,
Lucie

Mom caught me!
It's 3 days since my surgery. I have been ok, except that I don't like the medicines, but who does?!?! I have been difficult with the food too, but who isn't???
You would not believe this, but Mom caught me while I was pulling the thread. Right at that same time when my teeth were pulling the stitch! Oh! what a look! and worst: what a scream! I froze instantly!
She took me to my Vet right away. He checked the stitches and sprayed a silver thing, so now I have a silver belly! WOW that's luxury!!!
My Vet said that I still cannot jump but in a few days I'll be 100% ok. Ready to Rock!!!

I am finally back home and OK! (or KO?)
Mom took me to the vet early this morning. There was no traffic, so we made it there by 8:00 am. There he was, my vet, waiting for me. Mom left and after hugging and kissing me much, she promised to come pick me up soon. And she showed right away, ... well ... at 5 pm. To me, it seemed pretty soon for I spent the day literally knocked out! Vet told Mom that my surgery finished around 9:30 am, and that I stayed in the ICU (Intenside CUDDLE Unit?!) till 1 pm. It all went all right and I woke up in great shape. That's when Mom called to check on me. I waited for Mom in the after surgery area, close to my Vet. There she was! Big Smile! We got home after stopping at the drugstore and driving through heavy traffic. Mom said in the car that we would camp on the living room for a few days till I was fully recovered. I didn't know what she meant when she told me we would have a Japanese camping. Based on previous experience, the first thougt that came to my mind was of airplanes and airports again! But .. oh! this time I felt I was in no way ready for another trip. Well ... I soon found out what our very own Japanese camp started to looked like: Mom brought blankets, pillows, quilts, my bed, the teddy bears and Rita, the medicines (yikes!) and her cellphones and laptop. It became OUR SPACE! with big tv screen and our 2 gallon fish tank so we could also see my guppies: Max and l'Orange and their 4 1 week old babies. I liked our camp right away. Mom gave me the medicine, turned off the lights and I cuddled in her arms. Mom promised me that my tummy stitches would not hurt. zzzzzzz

I met my mother on December 23, 2006 in Florida after I traveled alone from Missouri to Dallas (got stucked in the airport for around 6 hours due to a snow storm) and then to Fort Lauderdale Airport. Then on January we traveled together from Miami to Atlanta (where we got trapped in the airport because of a tornado for 3 days at 32°F) and then we flew overseas to our home in Caracas, Venezuela.
